Danby DDW1899WP 8 Place Setting Portable Dishwasher - White

As has been noted by many, the owner's manual is terrible. I set this machine up, turned on the spigots, flipped the power switch and... nothing happened. The machine was lit up, but the cycle did not start. I thought the machine might be "paused" so I pressed the pause button and a light started flashing on the machine - which in my mind is consistent with a "pause" state. Nothing happened so I hit the pause button again thinking I was "un-pausing" the cycle. I spent a lot of time fiddling about with the controls and trying different things to make the machine work. In the end it turns out I had the machine on pause without knowing it. If this happens to you, hit the pause button, the light will start flashing (which DOES NOT mean pause) and after 15-20 seconds the cycle will begin. I haven't had this machine for long but so far I love it.

Purchased my Danby in 2009 from Walmart for $400 plus tax, so price hasn't changed much. Wanted to add my 5 star review. This is a wonderful little machine. Probably use it twice a week. It's perfect for two people. Just don't expect to fit extra large items in it. My limiting factor was space and this was the only option, because I wouldn't consider a counter top model. Once I got the machine home, I found the foot print wasn't much bigger than my kitchen trash can. Cabinets in the kitchen are white, so the dishwasher blends in nicely. Opened it up to find a stainless tub...very nice!! The test for any dishwasher is how well it cleans. This little dishwasher cleans as well as any full size I've ever had. Almost three years in service - absolutely no mechanical or other problems!! It cleans like a champ!! Couldn't ask or expect more.

Koldfront 6 Place Setting Portable Countertop Dishwasher - Black

It takes up exactly the space the former dishrack did. Even better now that the dishrack washes the dishes. It doesn't dry all the way and it takes up the sink while working but I am fine with these little things because the dishes get done regularly now. For city apt dwellers who don't have the space or the $$ some places want to install a full size this is the best solution. Had ours 5 months now and love it.

I purchased this item for my elderly mother who cant stand at the sink and wash dishes any more. She has been very happy with using the dish washer says its a wondeful appliance. Thank you.

SPT Countertop Dishwasher, White

I have had this dishwasher only a week. I am using in it from Walmart - The Great Value Dishwasher Powder and The Great Value Rinse Agent. This dishwasher appears to be very well made but, as I said I have only had it a week and time will tell how durable it really is.

As for cleaning a large load of dishes this dishwaser does an outstanding job! Does it hold up to six place settings? Everybodys dishes are different and it holds about four and then some for me. For those of you who are wondering if this washer drains the water by gravity or it is pumped out I beleive it is pumped out but, I could not find any documentation on this. Very easy to hookup to you kitchen faucet. Does a great job drying the dishes.
